About

Rainbow Rush is a compact endless arcade game. Move around the arena, dash through enemies of your color or lower, and advance through the rainbow by defeating an enemy of your current color. Survive, build longer chains, and beat your personal records.

There are four PC control schemes to try from the main menu. Your selection is remembered in your browser.

Playing on a phone? Rotate into landscape mode for a larger arena. Tap to dash and hold and drag to steer. Touch controls are still being refined.

How to Play

  • Mouse + Space (default): Hold left-click to move, release to stop, and press Space to dash toward the cursor.
  • Mouse Only: Hold left-click to move; clicking also attempts a dash.
  • WASD + Mouse: Move with WASD, aim with the mouse, and left-click to dash.
  • WASD + Space: Move with WASD and press Space to dash in your movement direction (or last facing direction when stationary). No mouse is needed.
  • Touch: Tap to dash, then hold and drag to move.
  • Hit enemies of your color or lower: Chain kills; defeating your own color advances to the next color.
  • Avoid stronger enemies: You have three hearts. A dash within 100 milliseconds of touching an enemy can still save a heart.
  • P or Esc: Pause or resume the game.
  • R: Restart your run. After game over, replay becomes available after one second.

Your high scores, control scheme, and audio preferences are saved locally in your browser. There is no online leaderboard or account requirement.
